InkTober Day 3

I decided to join in (a bit lazily this year) with the annual InkTober.

Here is Day 3's prompt: BAT

Days 5 and 9

 I was at work on hold with tech support yesterday afternoon, so I took advantage of the down time to draw Days 5 (Vampire) and 9 (Werewolf) of Inktober:

I used the tools at hand: post-it notes, Sharpies, and highlighter markers (after first sketching the carousing pair with a ball point pen).

DDD Days 15 - 16

I got tired of the Week 2 part of the #DungeonDrawingDudes Challenge, and left out the final five drawings of that time span. But today I decided to jump into Week 3 and play a bit of catch-up.

Day 15 is a Forest Temple Map:

I drew it on a post-it note. I knew I wanted a Central America-style pyramid and a small village. I also added a stream and some column ruins in two places, plus the location of the Holy Spring (Day 18) and Ancient Golem Puzzle (Day 19), in the center of the right hand part of the drawing.

Day 16 is a drawing of Camembert, who is an Overprepared Elven Bard:

I gave him a ton of weapons, his trusty lute, and the aforementioned map. I haven't colored him yet, because I love the ink job, and from experience, sometimes the coloring process ruins the drawing.

Work It

I was on the phone with the "help" desk last night three times from 7 pm to 8pm. This is how I spend my time on 'hold':

And this is what I scribbled out during a couple of minutes during the dead early hour this morning on the large Boogie Board:

 

It's been a lifelong habit of mine to fill in the gaps of time with random scribbles!

Co-LAB-o

I arrived at work to find a post-it note scribble by Nick: an alien woman's head. So being the collaborative-yet-conscientious fellow I am, I decided to draw a body for the poor creature (while on hold with the help desk), and at the same time leaving Nick's work untouched.

I slapped another post-it note under the woman's neck, drew part of a body, and then attached both yellow squares to a standard sheet of printer paper to have room for the rest of the figure:

 

 

Fast-forward to a later phone call with the same help desk, and I took the time to color the image with a few handy-dandy highlighter markers, thus completing yet another 'lost minutes' creation... Thanks, Nick!

 



Post-O-Lantern

The first of many Jack O'Lanterns this season! This one was done on a post-it note on my lunch break at work. The usual suspects (black pen, highlighter pens) were the tools used, and the drawing was photographed on the following digital camera settings: "indoor", and the extra-spooky "underwater":

Fly on the Wall

Ah, the things one can do with post-it notes and highlighters...

This fly landed on my steering wheel in rush-hour traffic a few weeks ago, and I finally got around to drawing it. I kid you not, its head was even greener than how I portray it here, and its body was a shiny brass & bronze (and not yellow & orange). Its wings were crystalline, but all I had was a blue highlighter with which to approximate it. I'm sad that the photo I took on my phone at the time was so blurry, but its image definitely is perma-burned into my brain. These two images show off different filter effects from my camera:
